Warner too decides against contesting CA's sanctions
David Warner announced that he will not be challenging Cricket Australia's sanctions for ball-tampering. Earlier, Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft had made similar decisions and accepted the ban placed by CA.
April 5, Thursday was the last day for the players to challenge the ban if needed. Of the trio, Warner was considered the most likely to challenge the sanctions but he too has stayed away from that route and will continue to serve the one-year ban handed out to him.
The three cricketers were handed the sanctions by CA following after they had accepted trying to tamper the ball in the Cape Town Test against South Africa. CA's investigations found that Warner was the chief conspirator in the case.
